Trials and testing come, whether your a child of God or not, the difference is how we respond, the world will respond differently than we do, or should I say we should respond differently than they do.
Trials and testing are the wings that lift our faith and helps us soar above the world, and God is the wind that moves us onward and upward we must trust Him even when it makes no sense at all.
We have God the Holy Spirit in us, He is our counselor, comforter, teacher.
We are not promised that we will not suffer, we are not promised that we will not fail, we are not promised a pain-free life, or disease-free life, we are not promised financial prosperity and we are not promised to get out of this life, alive.
We are promised that God is with us, He is for us, He will provide and protect us, He will finish what He started in us, we are in His hands and nothing will separate us from Him, that all things will work out for our good and His glory, that He is our strength, our wisdom, our hope, our salvation and that no matter what is going on God is good and He is love.
All we face in this life is nothing, if you're trying to live your best life now you will miss all the glory of Christ in you.
We will never know the joy of the Lord until we experience Him in His suffering.
Seeking a deeper relationship with Christ is my goal everyday, we know Him as much as we want, I think at times we are all fearful of what we will find out about ourselves if we get to close to Christ, that is our frailty especially as men, but the closer I get to Him the more I realize things, that I am filled with depravity and wretched and I need Him, but He doesn't need me, He chose me, I must choose to follow Him always even when I am down and lowly I must look up and seek Christ.
C. S. Lewis has said, “Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness, despair, rage, ruin, and decay. But look for Christ, and you will find Him, and with Him, everything else thrown in.
God's word says this:
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.”
1 Peter 4:12-14 NASB
“Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
Romans 5:1-5 CSB
“His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The person who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins. Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble.”
2 Peter 1:3-10 CSB
