Why would God save us?

One haunting question throughout the ages has been this, who then can be saved? Even the crowds asked Jesus this question when He taught.

God's gift of salvation is not based on us, He does not choose us because we are good, wealthy, healthy, rich, wise or beautiful, or because we can do anything or add anything to Him or His kingdom.

He chooses us simply because He loves us.

Charles Spurgeon said this:
”It's a good thing God chose me before I was born because he surely would not have afterward.”

None of us have all the answers and the question of why God would love any of us or save any of us, is really an unanswerable question, God's divine nature is love and that is as much as we can understand.

This is what I do know; Christ died once for all, His payment for our sins is available to all, He said if we deny Him, we condemn ourselves and He said you did not choose me, but I chose you.

The question really isn't who can be saved, it is why would God care to save anyone?

Really why would God care if we were saved or not, look at us we kill unborn children on demand, we lie, steal, cheat, and have put other humans, animals, and things in God's rightful place, we break every command God gives us as if it were a bucket list, and yet God loves us!

We question the existence of God, mock His name, live our lives as we want and then when things go bad we blame God, even those who don't believe in Him do this.

I am amazed at God's love for us

The world pushes back against God's ways, His word, His people.

The Church in its quest to be accepted by the world pushes back against God's ways, His word and His people who walk in His ways and His word.

I don't know where we are in God's timeline, the signs are everywhere, His word is clear, He is coming back soon

Those who reject Him will have to answer for and will be judged for their sins by the very laws of God they break, those who accept Him have had their sins judged already and received their pardon in Christ.

Those who say they accept Him but walk in the way of the world, see the previous paragraph.

Don't you know today would be a great day to confess Him as Lord and Savior? A great day to have your life, your eternity secured?

God is not looking for perfect people, He is looking for broken people who know they need His help in their lives as Lord and Savior, what is impossible with man, is possible with God.

God’s word says this

“The word of the Lord came to me: I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah‬ ‭1:4-5‬ ‭CSB

“The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable — who can understand it? I, the Lord, examine the mind, I test the heart to give to each according to his way, according to what his actions deserve.” Jeremiah‬ ‭17:9-10‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“as it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one. There is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away; all alike have become worthless. There is no one who does what is good, not even one. Their throat is an open grave; they deceive with their tongues. Vipers’ venom is under their lips. Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and wretchedness are in their paths, and the path of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are subject to the law so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment. For no one will be justified in his sight by the works of the law because the knowledge of sin comes through the law. But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, attested by the Law and the Prophets. The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, since there is no distinction. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. God presented him as an atoning sacrifice in his blood, received through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in His restraint God passed over the sins previously committed. God presented him to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time so that he would be righteous and declare righteous the one who has faith in Jesus.” Romans‬ ‭3:10-26‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, in which he also went and made proclamation to the spirits in prison who in the past were disobedient, when God patiently waited in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared. In it a few — that is, eight people — were saved through water.” 1 Peter‬ ‭3:18-20‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Anyone who believes in him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. This is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed. But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”John‬ ‭3:16-21‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father. You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. “This is what I command you: Love one another. “If the world hates you, understand that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they don’t know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin. The one who hates me also hates my Father. If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not have sin. Now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. But this happened so that the statement written in their law might be fulfilled: They hated me for no reason.”John‬ ‭15:14-25‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“Seeing that he became sad, Jesus said, “How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” Those who heard this asked, “Then who can be saved?” He replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Then Peter said, “Look, we have left what we had and followed you.” So he said to them, “Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left a house, wife or brothers or sisters, parents or children because of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times more at this time, and eternal life in the age to come.” Luke‬ ‭18:24-30‬ ‭CSB‬‬
