Why we celebrate Christmas

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, let us remember where God rescued us from, for the story of those in the genealogy of Christ Jesus are our stories, we are the same.

This is why I love reading God’s word, God tells the story of redemption on every page. How He takes ordinary people through extraordinary events,He changes their lives and starts to conform them through Jesus who made the way for us to be reconciled unto Him, I know this for He changed mine.

God’s word is filled with truth, love, sacrifice, mercy, promises, hope and grace all from God the Father.

He uses ordinary people, not perfect, think about this, God used murderers, liars, adulterers, thieves, idol worshippers, drunkards, prostitutes, poor people, rich people, kings, slaves, shepherds, swindlers, tax collectors, fisherman, and soldiers, He used men and women from every walk of life, to bring forth hope, to all mankind, see Matthew 1 and Luke 1 for the genealogy of Christ.
There are no lengths that God has not gone through or ends untied that God has not thought of for our salvation.

At the right time God sent Christ Jesus to us, to be born of a virgin the seed of a woman, to keep that promise He made in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned against Him and brought death and separation from His Holiness and Righteousness.

“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”Genesis 3:15 NKJV

The promises that God has made, He has kept and He will keep what He has not fulfilled yet.

In Christ the fullness of God came to be with us, to walk among us, to live as we live, to show us love, mercy and grace. Jesus never ever pretended to be someone He was not, He never acted perfect and sinless, because He is perfect and sinless. He didn’t condemn people for where they were, He put out His hand and said you are forgiven, go and sin no more.

Why do you think God doesn’t use perfect religious people? Because they don’t exist, they never have existed and never will exist.

Let’s show people their sins can be forgiven as ours are daily, by God our Father, through Christ the Son and we can all live a better life with help from God the Holy Spirit.

God's word says this:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. You are being guarded by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and carefully investigated. They inquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when he testified in advance to the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven — angels long to catch a glimpse of these things. Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be sober-minded and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance. But as the one who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy. If you appeal to the Father who judges impartially according to each one’s work, you are to conduct yourselves in reverence during your time living as strangers. For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was revealed in these last times for you. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory so that your faith and hope are in God. Since you have purified yourselves by your obedience to the truth, so that you show sincere brotherly love for each other, from a pure heart love one another constantly, because you have been born again — not of perishable seed but of imperishable — through the living and enduring word of God. For All flesh is like grass and all its glory like a flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord endures forever. And this word is the gospel that was proclaimed to you.”
1 Peter 1:3-5, 10-25 CSB
