Fear keeps us from living, we lock ourselves away from other people we become isolated which makes those fears so much more real, and literally, it seems as if these fears begin to come true.
85 percent of what we fear never happens, and 79 percent of the 15 percent that does happen is not as bad as we thought, that means 97 percent of the things that haunt our hearts and minds are senseless fears and worries. Most of our fears are of the unknown we fear that terrible things will happen to us or to loved ones. Literally, we can be imprisoned by fear to the extent that we create terrible “what if” stories in our minds. We must not fear the unknown, for we are in the Hands of our Lord and Savior, we need to know who we are in Christ. This is where we find comfort in the knowledge that we have received the Spirit of sonship, which makes us an heir with Christ, giving us a spirit of power and of love not a spirit of fear. Since we are heirs with Christ who has overcome, sin and death we have also overcome. Many times we find ourselves in difficult situations, situations that seem to appear hopeless, they bring fear into our lives. Being afraid is natural, but having the knowledge that we have received the Holy Spirit and God calls us sons and daughters should carry us through this fear if God is for us, who can be against us? His Word gives us strength. God did not promise us a trouble-free life, but He promised the grace to live through the troubles. Today whatever you fear cast it at the feet of Jesus and walk in faith knowing He is with you every step of every day. God’s word says this: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand. For I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you. The poor and the needy seek water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. I will answer them. I am the Lord, the God of Israel. I will not abandon them.” Isaiah 41:10, 13, 17 CSB “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”Matthew 6:33-34 CSB “For all those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, and if children, also heirs — heirs of God and coheirs with Christ — if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.” Romans 8:14-17 CSB “Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through his death he might destroy the one holding the power of death — that is, the devil — and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.”Hebrews 2:14-15 CSB “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.” 2 Timothy 1:7 CSB “There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love.” 1 John 4:18 CSB
