The power of praying in faith

When I come to my Heavenly Father in prayer, I know God will answer my prayers because He is God and every word I pray is in complete faith and trust. I find grace in prayer, and my life is dependent upon the grace of God., therefore I pray always.

My will is to live justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God every day the only way this happens is I must surrender all of me every moment of every day to Him. I get to walk with Him in the Spirit and not my flesh. None of this is because of me, rather it is only because of Christ in me.

Through trial after trial, I have learned my total dependence on God, He is my strength, shield, and salvation. Daily I ask He guard my heart and mind, my eyes and ears and watch over the things I say! It is the Holy Spirit in me that guides me through each day, He deserves all the praise and glory.

I have seen people healed, others set free from bondage, relationships mended and those who have died come back to life because of who Christ is, there is no power anywhere that can stop who Christ is or His work. So when I pray I trust in His wisdom, grace, and mercy, and I hold onto the promises of God that He has made in His word to us.

Don't get me wrong, I have been through seasons where I doubted, where I was double-minded, where I went through the motions, but God has changed my heart and shown me that He is God, and I am to bring everything to Him, and trust Him, that He is control and nothing happens unless He knows about it, that He is over all things and that He works all things to His glory and our good to those who are His!

I know these things not because I have read about them, but because I live them every day, and by His grace I am alive today to be a living testimony of who Christ is, of how He can change a life, how He will provide and make a way where there seems to be no way, of how He can take what was evil and make it good!

Yes God answers my prayers always, He has told me flat out no, He has told me to wait upon Him, He has told me to keep praying and in doing so changed my request, He has told me yes, He has told me to be persistent, and I have learned to listen to Him more as I pray, so when I come before Him I listen more than I speak and lean not on my own understanding I have learned to pray always and know that He answers accordingly.

Prayer is an intimate conversation with God, isn't it time we get intimate with our Creator, friend, savior, and LORD.

God's word says this:

“Be on your guard, so that your minds are not dulled from carousing, drunkenness, and worries of life, or that day will come on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come on all who live on the face of the whole earth. But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man.”Luke 21:34-36 CSB

“My son, pay attention to my words; listen closely to my sayings. Don’t lose sight of them; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to one’s whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life. Don’t let your mouth speak dishonestly, and don’t let your lips talk deviously. Let your eyes look forward; fix your gaze straight ahead. Carefully consider the path for your feet, and all your ways will be established. Don’t turn to the right or to the left; keep your feet away from evil.” Proverbs 4:20-27 CSB

“in order that the law’s requirement would be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their minds set on the things of the Spirit. Now the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set of the Spirit is life and peace. The mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit to God’s law. Indeed, it is unable to do so. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him. Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.” Romans 8:4-10 CSB

“I will boast about this person, but not about myself, except of my weaknesses. For if I want to boast, I wouldn’t be a fool, because I would be telling the truth. But I will spare you, so that no one can credit me with something beyond what he sees in me or hears from me, especially because of the extraordinary revelations. Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so that I would not exalt myself. Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times that it would leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me. So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:5-10 CSB

“Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect. Elijah was a human being as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its fruit. My brothers and sisters, if any among you strays from the truth, and someone turns him back, let that person know that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.” James 5:13-20 CSB
