We live in uncertain days, everything is the opposite of what it should be; evil is celebrated and embraced, good is shunned and mocked. Fear seems to be overcoming people of faith, and when it does it paralyzes us and we are not certain of our next move.
What we need to remember is this, there is nothing new under the sun, evil always persists, evil always pursues us, but evil will not prevail over God's children. We as children of God, truly should not fear the world or its ways, we should faithfully and fervently seek the Lord and pray for those around us. We must truly serve the Lord our God always, by walking in obedience and let Him handle the rest. That is the essence of our faith, our trust our hope. If we say we trust God for our eternity, why can't we trust Him for our day to day existence? Jesus said not to worry, not to fear, that nothing happens that God is not over, and if God is concerned and provides for the sparrow how much more will He do for His children? If the animals God created do not worry about today or tomorrow, why should we? Let's keep our eyes on Christ no matter what is going on around us, walk humbly with Him through the storms and safely go to the other side. Today spend some time in God's courts and ask Him to replace your fear with greater faith in Him. Then share your faith with others, for we all need to hear good news. God's word says this: “How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord of Armies. I long and yearn for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh cry out for the living God. Even a sparrow finds a home, and a swallow, a nest for herself where she places her young — near your altars, Lord of Armies, my King and my God. How happy are those who reside in your house, who praise you continually. Selah Happy are the people whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a source of spring water; even the autumn rain will cover it with blessings. They go from strength to strength; each appears before God in Zion. Lord God of Armies, hear my prayer; listen, God of Jacob. Selah Consider our shield, God; look on the face of your anointed one. Better a day in your courts than a thousand anywhere else. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God than live in the tents of wicked people. For the Lord God is a sun and shield. The Lord grants favor and honor; he does not withhold the good from those who live with integrity. Happy is the person who trusts in you, Lord of Armies! Psalms 84:1-12 CSB “Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. After dismissing the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. Well into the night, he was there alone. Meanwhile, the boat was already some distance from land, battered by the waves, because the wind was against them. Jesus came toward them walking on the sea very early in the morning. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said, and they cried out in fear. Immediately Jesus spoke to them. “Have courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter answered him, “command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” And climbing out of the boat, Peter started walking on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” “When they got into the boat, the wind ceased.”Then those in the boat worshiped him and said, “Truly you are the Son of God.”Matthew 14:22-33 CSB “Therefore, don’t be afraid of them, since there is nothing covered that won’t be uncovered and nothing hidden that won’t be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light. What you hear in a whisper, proclaim on the housetops. Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s consent. “But even the hairs of your head have all been counted.” So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. “Therefore, everyone who will acknowledge me before others, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever denies me before others, I will also deny him before my Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:26-33 CSB
