Life is unpredictable, we do not know what a day will bring, we may make plans but they are subject to change, depending on what goes on around us.
Our lives may seem like they are in turmoil, and maybe yours is right now, maybe because of choices others made, or choices you made, or just because we live in a fallen sinful world.
But everything that happens in the world is within the providence of God, this means God's foreknowledge, the way He prepares for the future by knowing all things, He steers and guides humanity, He is ever present, actively sustaining humanity.
He does this personally also in our lives we serve God the Father, His word says ”In all things God works for the good for those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”(Romans 8:28)
We worry about things we can not change, become angry at God for things that didn’t go our way, worry is the sin of believing God will get it wrong, anger is the sin of believing God got it wrong.
It has been said, you're either in a storm, coming out of a storm or going into a storm.
We must ask ourselves, who commands the storms that rage around us, who speaks and they cease? His name is Christ Jesus that is who, and those who call upon His name shall be saved!
Christ never leaves us in the storm, His silence does not mean He is not there, He is waiting, waiting for us to stop doubting, waiting for us to stop struggling, waiting for us to call upon His name and calm the storms around us, He grows our faith in the midst of turmoil, sometimes the storms rage on but He assures He is with us, for He never leaves us or forsakes us, the storms will not last forever.
God is always in control, He is always with us, His ways are perfect. We on the other hand are not either. We have to learn to trust God always instead of doubting Him, we have to learn to not be angry with God when things don't go our way, rather we need to rejoice in the fact that God is always with us and He is good, no matter what goes on around us.
If you're in a storm today, call upon His name and rest in His hands. I speak from experience, for twenty years we have been in one storm after another but God is with us, and He sustains us, He is with us, He holds us, He alone has been our Lord and Savior through it all, and He will finish what He started, for He is God and He alone is always in control.
God's word says this:
“As he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves — but Jesus kept sleeping. So the disciples came and woke him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to die!” He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey him!”Matthew 8:23-27 CSB
“God — his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is a rock? Only our God. God — he clothes me with strength and makes my way perfect.”Psalms 18:30-32 CSB
“Remember what happened long ago, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and no one is like me. I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying: my plan will take place, and I will do all my will.”Isaiah 46:9-10 CSB
“Approach me and listen to this. From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time anything existed, I was there.” And now the Lord God has sent me and his Spirit. This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you for your benefit, who leads you in the way you should go.”Isaiah 48:16-17 CSB
