Praying in faith

I think most of the time we pray more for our wants and not our daily needs because we don’t understand our dependency on God.

When we come to the knowledge of how much we depend on God, we will learn to walk closer with Him and pray as we walk in faith.

Sadly most people pray without faith, but even worse there are people of faith who do not pray!

We cannot afford to live a life without prayer, or faith. Prayer puts our lives in perspective when we pray we are surrendering the areas we pray over into God’s hands and listening to Him is our faith.

Prayer is walking in obedience and faith, to God’s will in our lives, Lord help us, hold us close so we will not stray as in this life, help us walk in faith and obedience to you, let the Holy Spirit lead us each day as we pray, draw us closer to you.

God’s word says this:

“Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Who among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him. Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:7-12 CSB

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you. So then, brothers and sisters, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh, because if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!”Romans 8:11-15 CSB

“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God — who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly — and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord, being double-minded and unstable in all his ways.”James 1:5-8 CSB
