When we say things like ” I believe in God, He is in control, my faith is in Him, I trust Him, ” do we really mean what we say all the time, or do we believe this to be true only when things are good?
What about when trials come our way and the storms are raging, when all seems lost do we really have faith and trust, in God? Is God over our marriages, families, health, finances, our jobs, neighborhoods, schools, our government, churches, nation or the world we live in, is He over life and death? Either God is always in control or He is never in control. We must ask ourselves in everything, do we trust God? A.W. Tozer said this “The reason why many are still troubled, still seeking, still making little forward progress is because they haven't yet come to the end of themselves. We're still trying to give orders, and interfering with God's work within us. ” Our walk with Christ is not based on feelings, feelings will betray us, our walk is based on faith, and trust, who our faith is in determines our walk! We either have faith enough to always follow God and trust Him, or we have faith in ourselves and try to do life without Him. Are we interfering in God’s work in our lives, in the lives of others because of our lack of faith? Let’s live our lives in total surrender, complete trust, and unfailing faith in Christ, for all of our help comes from Him! God’s word says this: “I lift my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber. Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep. The Lord protects you; the Lord is a shelter right by your side. The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night. The Lord will protect you from all harm; he will protect your life. The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forever.” Psalms 121:1-8 CSB “My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands; for they will bring you many days, a full life, and well-being. Never let loyalty and faithfulness leave you. Tie them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will find favor and high regard with God and people. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight. Don’t be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. This will be healing for your body and strengthening for your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Do not despise the Lord’s instruction, my son, and do not loathe his discipline; for the Lord disciplines the one he loves, just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights.”Proverbs 3:1-12 CSB “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17 CSB
