We have it backward in our culture, we fear the battles we face instead of fearing God, if God sends us into battle we have nothing to fear, for if God is for us who can be against us? Joshua, Caleb, and David were three great warriors, they fought great battles and had great victories because they sought the Lord first, walked in obedience with Him and never feared their enemy for they knew God was with them. When we walk in obedience with God, we need not fear the battle for God will fight for us, He is our strength, shield, and victory. Joshua marched around an impenetrable fortress seven days and it fell, Caleb at eighty-five years old asked God to give him the land He promised him, David, as a teen faced Goliath as the armies of Israel cowered. We cower from the fight when the enemy shows his claws or teeth, we should instead stand strong in the Lord. Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church, we are the Church we need to walk in obedience to Christ and walk in the victory He gives us daily, the battle is more than we can face, the battle is real, don't cower or run away from it, instead seek Christ, seek His strength, His words, His wisdom and know that He alone has overcome sin, death, the world, and the devil and in Christ we are more than conquerors we can walk in the valley of the shadow of death and fear no evil, we can set and feast in the presence of our enemy for the Lord God is our protection we need not fear where He leads us, we must only trust Him. God's word says this: “For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.’”Deuteronomy 20:4 Read Joshua 6: for the story of Jericho Read Joshua 14: for the Story of Caleb Read 1 Samuel 17: for the story of David “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:18-19 CSB “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”John 16:33 CSB “What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He did not even spare his own Son but offered him up for us all. How will he not also with him grant us everything? Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died, but even more, has been raised; he also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us. Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: Because of you we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 8:31-39 CSB
