As we gather this evening to say goodbye to this year and welcome a New Year, let us remember the mercies the Lord gives us each morning, and let us learn to live in the grace He gives us each day.
All the victories and failures of yesterday, will soon be nothing more than memories, don't dwell on either live each day as if Christ was to return today.
One day soon He will and there will be no more sorrow, no more tears, no more death or sickness, there will be joy everlasting, eternal fellowship and peace, on that day our hope will be complete, but until that day comes let us rejoice in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He alone is our hope and promise of a new beginning.
God’s word says
“Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness! I say, “The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the person who seeks him. It is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”Lamentations 3:21-26 CSB
“Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”Romans 12:1-2 CSB
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens — Jesus the Son of God — let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.”Hebrews 4:14-16 CSB
