Lord save me from me

Our lives are momentary reflections of what is going on around us, we are driven by the moment, this is why we seem to live on an emotional roller coaster.

We focus on events and things, like ourselves, and others instead of God. It's easy to be distracted, get caught up in the waves of despair in our busy world.

This life takes us all through storms, no one is immune, but as a child of God, we know Christ is with us always, trust Him.

This time of year is overwhelming, holidays seem to bring bouts of greater depression, fear, anxiety, anger, grief, financial problems, health problems, family problems, they seem to intensify during holiday seasons.

What really happens is our focus changed because we are looking back on the things that have driven our lives, we start dwelling on them, they have helped make us or break us, these things are all part of our story, but we are part of God's story, He is big enough and great enough to help us overcome all of these things we need to turn our eyes upon Him and trust Him, we must cry out ”Lord save me, from me”

We must make the choice to get out from under the waves of despair that drag us along, we must press into the Lord and grab hold of His hands, focus on His face, His voice.

We must grab hold of those around us, start living our lives in a manner that the Lord's name will be exalted, we must choose moment by moment if need be who we will live for, me, myself and I, or Jesus, others and ourselves.

If you want the Joy of the Lord in your life then He must have first place always, when He is the desire of your heart everything else will fall into place.

God’s word says this:

“His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The person who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins. Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you. Therefore I will always remind you about these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have. I think it is right, as long as I am in this bodily tent, to wake you up with a reminder, since I know that I will soon lay aside my tent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has indeed made clear to me. And I will also make every effort so that you are able to recall these things at any time after my departure.” 2 Peter‬ ‭1:3-15‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Indeed, it is right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, and you are all partners with me in grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how deeply I miss all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment, so that you may approve the things that are superior and may be pure and blameless in the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians‬ ‭1:3-11‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. After dismissing the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. Well into the night, he was there alone. Meanwhile, the boat was already some distance from land, battered by the waves, because the wind was against them. Jesus came toward them walking on the sea very early in the morning. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said, and they cried out in fear. Immediately Jesus spoke to them. “Have courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter answered him, “command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” And climbing out of the boat, Peter started walking on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” When they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those in the boat worshiped him and said, “Truly you are the Son of God.” Matthew‬ ‭14:22-33‬ ‭CSB‬‬
