Having a relationship with Christ is a personal thing, He seeks us individually, knows every detail about our lives, all before we know Him, amazingly He still loves us and seeks us despite who we are, that is a love I don’t think we will ever understand.
We, on the other hand, don’t seek God as we should, yes we seek Him when things go wrong, or when we are hurting, angry, or we have a need, then we come running to Him for His help.
But how many seek His face, and really want to know Him more?
How many want to know the heart of God?
How many want to know God intimately?
How many want to know God?
We can only know God the Father, through a personal relationship with Christ the Son, through the Holy Spirit teaching and leading us, on our own we would fall short because of our sinful ways.
We stop seeking God, we start doing things our way instead of His, we justify our actions in our hearts and minds because we do not know or understand God’s love for us and those around us. But we must seek Him, not half-hearted as we do now, but with all our hearts, all our minds, with all our lives, to know God more we must be willing to lay aside every hindrance, stop walking in our ways and follow Him.
Christ Jesus made the way, for He alone is the way, He set the example of seeking and knowing His Father.
When will we learn that God has greater plans for us, that His love is deeper, greater, more powerful and farther reaching than we can imagine.
We are not God, we will never be a god, we cannot know all His ways or understand the things of God.
When will lay aside our fears, our agendas and simply seek God for who is?
Trust Him in all things?
Seek His face and not only His blessings?
Love Him and obey Him?
Have you ever just said to God, I surrender my all to you, my hopes, my dreams, my everything, I commit my life to you and all that it is, I will serve you with your help no matter what, no matter the cost, I will follow you.
God’s word says this;
For I know the plans I have for you” — this is the Lord’s declaration — “plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. You will call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you” — this is the Lord’s declaration — “and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you” — this is the Lord’s declaration. “I will restore you to the place from which I deported you.”Jeremiah 29:11-14 CSB
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, the Son is not able to do anything on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son likewise does these things. For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing, and he will show him greater works than these so that you will be amazed.
Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.
“I can do nothing on my own. I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, because I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.”John 5:19-20, 24,30, CSB
”His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The person who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins. Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you. Therefore I will always remind you about these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have. I think it is right, as long as I am in this bodily tent, to wake you up with a reminder, since I know that I will soon lay aside my tent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has indeed made clear to me. And I will also make every effort so that you are able to recall these things at any time after my departure. For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; instead, we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased!” We ourselves heard this voice when it came from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain. We also have the prophetic word strongly confirmed, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet’s own interpretation, because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”2 Peter 1:3-21 CSB
