When Christ was born God sent angels to tell the Shepherd's first of the Messiahs birth, He set a star in the sky and drew Wise Men on a long journey so they could meet the newborn King.
God passed by the palace, for those there felt they needed no Lord, He passed by the Synagogue for those there felt they needed no Savior, He passed by the town for those there felt they needed no God. You see the Palace was filled with pride and prejudice, the Synagogue was filled with self-righteousness and were lovers of self, and the town's people were wrapped up in themselves doing what was right in their own eyes. Although most weren't following the signs or holding onto the promises of God, there were some who were. I wonder if God had chosen Christ to come now as a child, would we be waiting in anticipation, expecting God to fulfill His promises, looking for our Savior? I don't think we are different than those in the Palace, the Synagogue or the Town, we are prideful, prejudice, self-righteous, lovers of self and wrapped up in ourselves. We should live and love others, live each day in anticipation of His return, the signs are everywhere, the prophecies fulfilled and the times we live in are growing darker every day. This Christmas let's look at Christ as He is, Fully God and Fully Man, He gave His life as a sacrifice for all mankind, the law could not fulfill God's love, only God's love could fulfill the law. Our hope should not be fading, rather it should be growing stronger everyday for Christ can come today! God’s word says this: “If then there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others. Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be exploited. Instead h,e emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death — even to death on a cross. For this reason G,od highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow — in heaven and on earth and under the earth — and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”Philippians 2:1-11 CSB “There was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking forward to Israel’s consolation, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he saw the Lord’s Messiah. Guided by the Spirit, he entered the temple. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform for him what was customary under the law, Simeon took him up in his arms, praised God, and said, Now, Master, you can dismiss your servant in peace, as you promised. For my eyes have seen your salvation.“You have prepared it in the presence of all peoples —” a light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory to your people Israel.” Luke 2:25-32 CSB ““You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. “Don’t think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass away from the law until all things are accomplished.” Matthew 5:13-18 CSB “For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 CSB
