Let's face it the world we live in is unfair, we are overrun at times with the ugliness of life in this sinful fallen world.
The wicked seem to prosper and hold positions of authority while we always seem to be playing catch up and defending our position just trying to make it day by day.
It can be disheartening but it is only for the moment, rest assured God is in control and we already have the victory.
Our daily battle is not for victory, but from victory in Christ, it is easier to face each day knowing Christ has overcome whatever comes our way.
Remember that demonic influence is everywhere, we may not think of things this way but they are, things such as alcoholism, drug addiction, pornography, racial hate, sexism, adultery, fornication, sex outside the bounds of marriage the way God designed it, gender confusion, lyrics to songs, government injustice, slavery, murder, lying deceitful tongues, prideful hearts, greed, gluttony, the list could go on and on, and while they can influence us and the world around us we do not have to submit to that influence as children of God, we should only submit to Him, yes these things can be overwhelming but we must not focus on these things.
While they may overwhelm us they must not overtake us, David gave us simple instructions on how to live, in a world that quickly changes. The Holy Spirit shows us how to live a life for God in a fallen world how to lay ourselves aside, as God rises up and shine in dark times.
Gods word says this:
“Do not be agitated by evildoers; do not envy those who do wrong. For they wither quickly like grass and wilt like tender green plants. Trust in the Lord and do what is good; dwell in the land and live securely. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act, making your righteousness shine like the dawn, your justice like the noonday. Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for him; do not be agitated by one who prospers in his way, by the person who carries out evil plans. Refrain from anger and give up your rage; do not be agitated — it can only bring harm. For evildoers will be destroyed, but those who put their hope in the Lord will inherit the land.” Psalms 37:1-9 CSB
“Do you really speak righteously, you mighty ones? Do you judge people fairly? No, you practice injustice in your hearts; with your hands you weigh out violence in the land. The wicked go astray from the womb; liars wander about from birth. They have venom like the venom of a snake, like the deaf cobra that stops up its ears, that does not listen to the sound of the charmers who skillfully weave spells. God, knock the teeth out of their mouths; Lord, tear out the young lions’ fangs. May they vanish like water that flows by; may they aim their blunted arrows.
The righteous one will rejoice when he sees the retribution; he will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. Then people will say, “Yes, there is a reward for the righteous! There is a God who judges on earth!” Psalms 58:1-7, 10-11 CSB
“Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves. Each one of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself. On the contrary, as it is written, The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me. For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures. Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, according to Christ Jesus, so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one mind and one voice.” Romans 15:1-6 CSB
