How would you respond?
When your child is sick and you didn't know why you go to the Doctor they discover a brain tumor and immediately schedule surgery the next morning?
When you woke up one day and all the things you worked for all your life was gone, your business failed and everything with it goes away?
When you became sick and one day woke up and can not walk, or and then the Doctors tell you, you won't be able to work again as you did before?
When your spouse becomes sick and is now limited in their physical abilities, and no one has an answer?
When you have to start all over again with just your family when you're in your mid-40s?
When your illness progresses each day and your Doctors don't know how to help or what to do?
All these are not scenarios I have thought up, this is the last 17 years of our lives, we have learned to trust the Lord for everything, we have learned to walk by faith and not by sight, we have learned the Sovereignty of God, we have learned to seek the Lord first always, we have learned that you are never in control and never were, we have learned that God is our healer, protector, provider, He is our strength and peace, He is our victory and we will persevere for He is our God and there is no other, His love for us is greater than anything we will truly know.
These are things we have learned for this is just a small part of God's story in our lives.
God does not have favorites, this I know His word says He has given us everything we need to make it through this life, we need only trust Him, seek Him and obey Him, if you're in the midst of a storm, or turmoil be still and seek His face and know that God is with you and for you, that He will never leave you or abandon you.
This is what we did, and we relied on the Holy Spirit to lead us and comfort us, knowing Jesus will never leave us or abandon us.
God's word says this:
“This is what the Lord says: Cursed is the person who trusts in mankind. He makes human flesh his strength, and his heart turns from the Lord. He will be like a juniper in the Arabah; he cannot see when good comes but dwells in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land where no one lives. The person who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed. He will be like a tree planted by water: it sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its foliage remains green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit.”Jeremiah 17:5-8 CSB
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7 CSB
“Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ: To those who have received a faith equal to ours through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The person who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins. Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you. Therefore I will always remind you about these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have. I think it is right, as long as I am in this bodily tent, to wake you up with a reminder, since I know that I will soon lay aside my tent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has indeed made clear to me. And I will also make every effort so that you are able to recall these things at any time after my departure. For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; instead, we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased!” We ourselves heard this voice when it came from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain. We also have the prophetic word strongly confirmed, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet’s own interpretation, because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”2 Peter 1:1-21 CSB
