Our prayers make a difference, not only do they affect our lives but they also affect the course of history.
How God's providence and our prayers work together honestly is a mystery, but In some extraordinary way, our prayers can affect the outcome of events.
Don't get me wrong God is totally sovereign and works out His purposes, He has done so throughout history. But still, He involves us in this process.
When we learn to pray for those around us instead of complaining about what they do, God will move them in a way only He can.
I don't believe our prayers change God's mind, but I do believe our prayers change things. If we could change God's mind that would mean He would have to improve on what He is doing, that makes no sense since God is perfect, His ways are perfect, His will is perfect, His foreknowledge is 100 percent accurate in all things, so God does not change His mind.
Our prayers I do believe change the circumstances around us and ushers in God's help as we line up with His will, God our Father delights in answering our prayers He says bring all your petitions to me in prayer, and Jesus taught us that when He said to pray this way: God takes what others may want to use against as evil or harmful and uses it for our good and His glory, He takes the broken and heals us, He takes the dead and makes us alive, He takes the blind and helps them see, He does what He wants because He is God and His ways are perfect!
I believe that God puts things on our hearts so we will pray, He allows sickness and death, so we will pray He puts people in our lives so we will pray, I believe God works all these things in our lives so we will pray to Him about all things.
So why do we pray, we pray for God to intervene in things going on around us, for things going on in us, in our families, our communities, our Nation and our world because we need Him.
We will never know God’s timing except this, that it is always perfect, we will never know why some people are healed and others are not this side of heaven, we will never know completely the mystery of who God is and how He does what He does but we should be grateful that He is involved in every part of our lives.
When we pray let's come to God humbly, gratefully and openly knowing He has a plan and it is perfect, and ask Him to help us line up with His ways and will.
I don't know about you, but as for me, I take all things to God because I want Him in all things and over things in my life, life is fragile and only God knows the end from the beginning, and I need His protection and provisions, wisdom and grace every second of everyday.
God’s word say this:
“God — his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is a rock? Only our God. God is my strong refuge; he makes my way perfect.” 2 Samuel 22:31-33 CSB
“Listen to me, house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been sustained from the womb, carried along since birth. I will be the same until your old age, and I will bear you up when you turn gray. I have made you, and I will carry you; I will bear and rescue you. “Who will you compare me or make me equal to? Who will you measure me with, so that we should be like each other? Those who pour out their bags of gold and weigh out silver on scales — they hire a goldsmith and he makes it into a god. Then they kneel and bow down to it. They lift it to their shoulder and bear it along; they set it in its place, and there it stands; it does not budge from its place. They cry out to it but it doesn’t answer; it saves no one from his trouble. “Remember this and be brave; take it to heart, you transgressors! Remember what happened long ago, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and no one is like me. I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying: my plan will take place, and I will do all my will. I call a bird of prey from the east, a man for my purpose from a far country. Yes, I have spoken; so I will also bring it about. I have planned it; I will also do it.” Isaiah 46:3-11 CSB
“First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and humanity, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time. For this, I was appointed a herald, an apostle (I am telling the truth; I am not lying), and a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.” 1 Timothy 2:1-8 CSB
“Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ. For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he lavished on us in the Beloved One. In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding. He made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he purposed in Christ as a plan for the right time — to bring everything together in Christ, both things in heaven and things on earth in him.” Ephesians 1:3-10 CSB
