Are we living by faith?

Abraham went when he didn’t know where he was going because God told him to go. Noah built an ark when no one had ever seen rain because God told him to build. Ezekiel laid in front of the city gates and played with stick figures, and told the story of destruction coming because God said it was time to do so. Esther went before the King unannounced to save her people, risking execution, Ruth laid at the feet of Boaz to make him her family’s redeemer, the Apostles all left their jobs, and eventually lost their lives except one who suffered greatly, because Jesus said follow me and they did.

What do they all have in common? they lived by faith. Faith is more than just words we speak, its trusting God in all things with the results, no matter how ridiculous things may sound to us, no matter how big or small things are, no matter how far we may travel, we have to take our troubles, and triumphs, concerns and hopes and all our worries and fears to God and trust His answers, He alone knows the end from the beginning, He sees all things and knows all things, why wouldn't we trust Him?

Are you seeking God today in every area of your life?

Do you trust Him for the answers?

Do you wait when God says to wait, and move when God says to move?

Are you living independently of God, or depending on God for all things?

Real faith starts with going to the Lord with everything, waiting to hear from Him and then doing what He says.

God’s word says this:

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭CSB‬‬h

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will travel to such and such a city and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring — what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes. Instead, you should say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.”James‬ ‭4:13-16‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.

Now without faith, it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith, he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and set out for a place that he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents as did Isaac and Jacob, coheirs of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

And what more can I say? Time is too short for me to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the raging of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength in weakness, became mighty in battle, and put foreign armies to flight. Women received their dead, raised to life again. Other people were tortured, not accepting release so that they might gain a better resurrection.”Hebrews‬ ‭11:1, 6-10, 32-35‬ ‭CSB‬‬
