Who we place our hope in, is who we believe in.
When my hope is in me, my ability or concerns I am living for me, my goals, my will, my way. I can tell you that when I live this way it usually doesn’t end well, I have the scars to prove this.
When we shift our hearts and minds from personal purity to our own personal happiness, we become focused on our agenda and not God's, this is how we lose hope.
God's perspective is guaranteed ours is not, God sees things from beginning to end, we see things only where we are.
We must confess this as sin, for we are sinning against God, we must turn from our ways, evaluate our hearts and in every decision ask ourselves; is this for God's glory or my pleasure?
I have learned, (and I am still learning )that when I live for Christ my life may not be perfect according to the standards of the world, but in Christ, I am being made perfect.
He is removing my imperfections, my foolishness and my will at His pace. I am learning to be patient with His handiwork in my life, and not try to be perfect, but rather surrender my life to His perfection, timing, grace, mercy, and love.
This same attitude I must have with others, for God is patiently and gracefully working with them as He is me.
God’s word tells us He is conforming us into the image of His Son, that He who began a good work in us will complete it, that He is removing our imperfections, if God is doing all these things, and He is in each of His children’s lives, then we need to stop trying to correct Him, for He is God, He will work these things out in our lives as He sees fit.
Be satisfied in Christ, when He brings needed changes in our lives lets not complain, kick or mumble rather let’s be grateful ,He loves us He removes these imperfections from within us, He is at work in us and works through us, let’s put all of our hope in Christ and live as we are called.
God’s word says this;
“But have nothing to do with pointless and silly myths. Rather, train yourself in godliness. For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance. For this reason we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.” 1 Timothy 4:7-10CSB
“I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6CSB
“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” Romans 8:28-29CSB
“Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”James 1:2-4 CSB
“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you yourselves not recognize that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless you fail the test. And I hope you will recognize that we ourselves do not fail the test. But we pray to God that you do nothing wrong — not that we may appear to pass the test, but that you may do what is right, even though we may appear to fail. For we can’t do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. We rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. We also pray that you become fully mature. This is why I am writing these things while absent, so that when I am there I may not have to deal harshly with you, in keeping with the authority the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down. Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice. Become mature, be encouraged, be of the same mind, be at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints send you greetings. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Corinthians 13:5-13 CSB
“There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way to death.”Proverbs 14:12 CSB
